2015 was an amazing year!! Not only did I step out of my comfort zone and try new things, like shooting the cover photo for a magazine and becoming the official event photographer for Austin Woman Magazine, but I also connected with some amazing people and made some great friends!!

Since it's the beginning of a new year, I thought it would be a good idea to compile a list of my favorite photos from 2015. Making this list was kinda hard since I captured so many different images last year, but I can't wait to share what photos stand out to me the most and what makes them so special!!

15. IF:Gathering
This is one of my favorite event photos and was captured at IF:Gathering 2015. I've been capturing IF:Gathering since they first started having an annual conference in 2014. It's been amazing watching the organization grow, and I can't wait for their next conference in February!

14. TedxYouth Austin
TedxYouth Austin is a local educational conference run by teens for teens. I was super excited when I learned about this event and when I was invited to be a part of the photography team! Being able to meet other photographers, and learn from the different speaks was so much fun, and I can't wait for TedxYouth Austin 2016!

13. SXSW
SXSW 2015 was the first time I captured an event that was a part of SXSW, and I had a wonderful time! While the event was small, being able to capture the event was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!

12. JW Marriott
Being able to capture the very first event ever held JW Marriott Austin was such an honor! The whole event was congratulating and thanking all of the people who constructed and designed the building, and I had a wonderful time meeting some of the people involved in the project as well as viewing the inside of the building for the first time!

11. 18 Holes for 18 Charities
This photo is from the very first event I captured working with Austin Woman and Austin Man Magazine. I've always dreamed of working with a company like Austin Woman, but never thought it would happen so quickly in my career. Being Austin Woman Magazine's official event photographer has been a dream come true and I can't wait to capture their events in 2016!!

10. Family Bluebonnet Session
This photo was captured as a surprise for my mom for Mother's Day. She had been wanted updated pictures of all of the kids in my family for a while, and since she was going out of town right before mother's day we decided to secretly do a photo session and print the photos in a photo book for her as a present. Needless to say she was very surprised and cried a lot!

9. Bluebonnet Session
I only did 2 session while the bluebonnets were in bloom in 2015, and this session is definitely one of my favorites! I had a wonderful time capturing photos of Ali and her dogs, and love the images that were taken during the session!

8. Lifestyle Portraits Session
This session with Ms. Sandra is definitely one of my favorite portrait sessions! This session was the first time I captured portraits inside of a barn using props, and while before the session I was a little nervous, once I started shooting I absolutely loved the images and couldn't wait to show her what we were able to capture! This session was so much fun, and I can't wait do another session like this in the future!

7. Cover photo for BOLD Plus Magazine
I love working with Spruce Dickerson, so when she asked me to capture a photo of her for the very first issue of the new publication BOLD Plus Magazine I couldn't wait!! This was my first time doing a session for the cover of a magazine, and I was super nervous about what to do, but the whole experience was so much fun and I can't wait to capture another photo for the cover of a magazine again!

6. Kendra Scott Jewelry
This whole session was a new experience for me. Not only was it my first time capturing photos of jewelry, but I also had to learn how to capture photos in a tight space, since we had to do the session in store during a huge sale. While I was super nervous during the session, I had a wonderful time and learned a lot about stock photography! These photos were for the Survive2Thrive foundation, and being to work with those amazing women was an experience that I will always remember.

5. Malek's Senior Portraits
Being the photographer in the family I get asked to capture a lot of the family photos and gatherings that happen, and while those are a lot of fun I have to say my brother's senior portrait session is definitely my favorite! I still can't believe that he's graduated, but being able to capture photos that show his personality and celebrate this amazing accomplishment with him was so much fun and something I will remember forever!!

4. Susan Seay
Working with my mom is something I will always look forward to doing. Because of our special bond, as well as all of the ways she has supported me, it's always a pleasure when I can use my skills to support her in her business!! Last fall my mom spoke every week for about 2 months, in that time I was able to capture some photos of her speaking, and it was a lot of fun! I still can't believe all of the places she was able to speak at and I can't wait to see where her speaking engagements take her this year!

3. eWomenNetwork Austin
I've been working with Meshell Baker for over a year, in that time I have captured a lot of different photos, but this images is definitely my favorite!! Not only does it show her fun personality, but it's also a good quality photo, and something I'm proud to add to my portfolio!!

I love supporting local charities, especially when I can captured the event in support of someone I know. While I don't do a lot of photo booths I made an exception for this event because of my connect to the organization. This event was capturing in support of my friend Cole Meadows who has type 1 diabetes. This photo is of the team that walked, in support of Cole, during the JDRF Austin walk last fall. Being able to support this organization and this family was a wonderful opportunity!

1. Austin Woman Magazine's 13th Anniversary
And lastly, while there are so many photos that I absolutely love from 2015, this photo is definitely my favorite. Not only is it a good photo, but it was captured at Austin Woman Magazine's 13th Anniversary event. Being able to capture an event like that had been a dream of mine since I first started my business and to be able to achieve that dream within 1yr is truly amazing! Because of all of the memories and the significance of having this photo in my portfolio, is the reason that this photo is my absolute favorite photo!
